Day 6.5 Electrical completed

The electrical is done!
We will probably paint the closed off light plates so that they do not stand out as much.

Wall socket
Ceiling fan from a distance....
Ceiling fan close up.

Day 6 - Electrical and Gutters

Today is electrical and gutters. There is really no way to avoid gutters. We originally thought we could do without them (we did not want to diminish the looks of the wood), but then we thought of the functional aspect of it.... Do we really want all the water pouring directly off the roof onto the deck? uh..no

Outlet for whatever (Christmas lights more than likely)
The outlet below is for a TV/DVD that we will hang eventually.
Below is the look from the front with the gutter work completed

Day 5 - Rest

We were scheduled to complete the stain portion today, but it is too windy outside. :(

Day - 2 Build

First thing to happen today (they started at 7:30am) was the big timber.

Then they framed up the structure

Here is the look from underneath. with the cedar panel roof sheets.

Here is the fully framed and ready for roofing structure. They did a really good job and as you can see they are cleaning before they leave each day.

Patio Cover

We have been dying to get a patio cover for years, but there always seemed to be other priorities that prevented us from doing it.

Well NO MORE!!

This blog will chronical the construction of our patio cover by Decathlon Construction.
Out of the 3 quotes we got, Decathlon were the only ones that answered the following question correctly.

"do you need to get a permit?"
They said "Yes, we do"

So far they have been professional and have provided us with precise quotes and excellent communication.
